About this event

Perthshire Tourism Partnership was established to bring together local tourism associations, public sector organisations, agencies and stakeholders based in Perth & Kinross to discuss strategic themes relating to tourism in the region.

The Perthshire Talks Tourism series aims to inspire, inform and connect tourism businesses across the region.

This month we'll once again be meeting in-person and focusing on developments nationally and locally within the accommodation sector.

PROGRAMME

1. Welcome to Perthshire Tourism Partnership, David Smythe, Chairperson

2. Short Term Let Licensing, Debra Gilkison, Licensing Manager, Perth & Kinross Council

The Short-Term lets Licensing Order was passed by the Scottish Parliament on 19 January 2022 and came into force on 1 March 2022. With effect from 1 October 2022, the use of accommodation for a Short-Term Let is an activity for which a licence is required.

The aims of the licensing scheme are to ensure all short-term lets are safe; to facilitate licensing authorities in knowing and understanding what is happening in their area and to assist with handling complaints and address issues faced by neighbours effectively. Join us to hear how Perth & Kinross Council will be implementing the Short Term Let new legislation on short term lets.

You can find out what types of properties require a licence; what planning considerations you may need to make; the process for how to make an application for a licence or a renewal and more at this session.
