About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

Join Mercedes for a culinary journey through Peru as she teaches you how to make a traditional lamb stew and a delicious sweet tamale dessert on Saturday 16 August 2025 from 10:30am - 2pm. Tickets can also be purchased from our site without additional fees.

Come and enjoy a fun morning with Mercedes Sullca Estrada cooking much loved Peruvian dishes from her childhood growing up in Cusco, Peru.

Mercedes will teach you how to make Seco de Cordero, a Peruvian lamb stew flavoured with coriander and cumin. For the vegetarians there will a vegetarian option of seco de mushrooms, with the lamb substituted for mushrooms.

There is always room for dessert! Mercedes will guide you on how to make sweet tamales. Tamales are an ancient dish made of masa, a dough made from nixtamalized corn, which is steamed in corn husks or banana leaves.

Once the dishes have been prepared, sit down together with your fellow attendees to enjoy what you have cooked!
