Rebuilding pur Foundations with Pesso Boyden (PBSP)
Pesso Boyden all day Group workshop
Workshop Details:
This one-day Pesso Boyden workshop offers a transformative experience for 6-12 participants. Using the Pesso Boyden Psychomotor System (PBSP), participants will explore personal healing and growth through a unique group process. The workshop is open to anyone, including psychotherapists, and no prior experience is necessary.
PBSP works by addressing present difficulties and tracing their roots back to unmet developmental needs or early trauma. By identifying and transforming these obstacles, PBSP helps individuals shift from surviving to thriving, enabling new pathways for growth, healing, and meaningful connection.
The Healing Power of the Method
This work is designed to help uncover and address hidden emotional patterns and beliefs that continue to influence your present-day experiences. The aim is to offer a healing experience that feels emotionally satisfying, filling in the gaps left by past experiences. This can provide fresh perspectives on current challenges and offer you greater clarity and choice going forward.
Event Overview
The day will run from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and we ask all participants to stay for the entire duration unless we’ve made other arrangements. You’ll find that the group tends to include a mix of people who are familiar with the method as well as newcomers. We expect between 6-12 participants to attend.
Two Ways to Participate
There are two main ways to be involved in the day. One option is to have a 'structure', as a client, which means you’ll work through a personal issue with the support of the group. This is an opportunity to dive into something that’s important to you, with the guidance of the therapist and the collective presence of the group.
The other way to participate is as an observer. In this role, you might be invited to take on a part in someone else’s structure. Although you won’t be the main focus, many people find that they resonate deeply with the process happening for others. It’s a wonderful way to experience the method and understand its impact, without being in the spotlight.
What the Day Looks Like
We’ll start the day with a short check-in to establish confidentiality and ensure everyone feels comfortable. There will also be time for questions and an introduction to the method.
The first structure will begin after that, with someone opting to work on an issue they’ve chosen. This typically takes between 50 and 60 minutes, after which the group will share their reflections on any personal resonances they might have had. Then, we’ll take a brief break for some tea, coffee, and snacks before moving on to the next structure, followed by lunch (not provided).
In the afternoon, there will be two more structures, each with a chance for people to reflect on what they experienced. If more than one person wants to go next, we’ll decide who will go first by a simple lottery (names from a hat!). We’ll end the day with a check-out, where everyone can share their final thoughts and feelings about the experience.
Snacks, tea, and coffee will be available throughout the day, so there’s always something to enjoy in between sessions.
How a Structure Works
A structure can unfold in one of two ways. Either the client brings a specific issue they want to explore with the therapist, or the client and therapist work together to see what arises in the moment based on the client’s inner experience.
Throughout the process, the therapist follows the client’s lead, and nothing is done without the client’s consent. It’s a safe, thoughtful, and respectful process that allows for deep emotional work to unfold.
In many cases, there will be some gentle role-play, where members of the group step into the shoes of figures from the client’s past. This can feel like a kind of psychodrama, but with a key difference: the role-players don’t improvise. Instead, they are given the words by the client or therapist, which emerge naturally through the process.

After the Workshop
The day will likely leave you with a deep emotional experience, so it’s a good idea to plan some quiet time afterward for integration. If you’ve had a structure during the day, you’re welcome to check in briefly with me the following week. This check-in supports the process of consolidation and helps the work to truly “land.”
CPD
Psychotherapists can earn 7 hours of CPD for attending the workshop.

Quotes from previous workshops:
"It might just transform you from historical trauma"
"I got so much out of the workshop it’s hard to put it into word. I’m still very much digesting the experience but it has given me faith in humanity and the power to heal. The sense of community support was deeply nourishing and the boundaries put in place made it feel like a really safe space to let go."
"Have already recommended it to a couple of people who are doing talk therapy on family issues that aren't shifting. A great, safe way to do more embodied, communal practice that I think is really powerful."
"It's an opportunity to be real in a safe place with the good will of ordinary people"
