About this event

PESSPA: Developing meaningful PE, delivered by Sarah Williams

Date: Wednesday 5th May

Time: 3.30pm-4.30pm

Does it sometimes feel like there is a disconnect between what you feel you should be teaching in PE and what you know will inspire your children? This workshop will examine the PE curriculum and what meaningful PE could look like in your school.

We will discuss:

· What is meaningful PE

· What could meaningful PE look like for your children?

· How do we create educationally driven PE experiences that motivate and inspire our children?

· Is it possible to include children in the planning of PE in order to promote engagement and meaning?

Prior to this workshop please take a look at your PE overview for the year and consider why you do what you do and what you most enjoy teaching.

This workshop will provide opportunities to ask questions so prior to the workshop please make note of any questions you would like to discuss or email questions to Sarah Williams (sarah.williams@shu.ac.uk) who is the PGCE School Direct and Primary PE Specialist Course Leader at Sheffield Hallam University.
