Failing to plan is planning to fail as the saying goes and this applies as much to the health care of your pet pigs as anything else. In this evening webinar vets Andrea Turner (Langford Vets) and Claire Scott (Bristol Vet School) will be discussing parasite control (internal and external), vaccines and routine management, as well as the practicalities around these important topics.
Claire Scott qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College in 2018 and spent two years working in 100% pig practice, where she developed her interest in health and welfare of pigs kept on a small-scale and amongst pigs kept as pets. She is now completing her PhD at the University of Bristol exploring disease management on smallholdings and amongst farm animals kept as pets with a focus on antibiotic use and resistance.
Andrea Turner qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2011, after which she completed a production animal internship at the RVC before spending some time in farm practice in the south-East of England. For the past 8 years Andrea has worked at Langford vets, becoming lead clinician in February 2022. During her time at Langford she has expanded her knowledge and skillset in managing smallholder/ pet cases both through Langford Vets first opinion ambulatory service and their non-emergency referral service.
