Event description

Description

Come and hear Peter Robinson discuss the 25th book in his bestselling DCI Alan Banks series!

Banks is caught between two cases that are, on first sight, unrelated. Firstly, he is called to the body of a university student, found in an abandoned car on the Yorkshire moors. The instant thinking is suicide, but how did she find her way to the middle of nowhere? Then, a short time later, the well-dressed body of a man is spotted by hikers at the bottom of a gulley- broken, sprawled, nibbled at by wild animals. He might have just fallen in- but would he have been out walking without waterproof and boots? Hardly likely.

Slowly, Banks and his officers put together the stories behind both deaths. There is little to go on, but diligence and a bit of luck mean that one clue after another is uncovered.

Meanwhile, Annie's father has a new girlfriend, and she comes up with a shocking piece of information that alerts Banks to the return of an old enemy, who wounded both Alan and Annie deeply, physically and mentally. It is likely that he will stop at nothing to get what he wants now.

Peter Robinson was born in Yorkshire. After getting his BA Honours Degree in English Literature at the University of Leeds, he went to Canada and took his MA in English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor, with Joyce Carol Oates as his tutor, then a PhD in English at York University. He has won numerous awards and nominations for his writing in Britain, the United States, Canada and Europe and has been translated into nineteen languages. Peter keeps a website at www.inspectorbanks.com
