Peterborough City Council is holding a consultation event to gather views on a proposed city-wide Additional Licensing scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
If introduced, the scheme would mean all currently unlicensed smaller HMOs, properties rented to three or more people from different households who share facilities, must be licensed by the council. This includes certain converted flats that don’t meet building regulations. The proposal will not affect properties already covered by Mandatory HMO Licensing (5 beds or more) or the existing Selective Licensing scheme.
Council officers will be in attendance at the event, providing you with the opportunity to learn more about the proposal, ask questions, and share your feedback.
All responses from the consultation will be reported to Cabinet and considered before a final decision is made. The full consultation report and proposal are available online.
