Event description

Description

Before we had the vote, we had petitions! Join us at 11am, 1pm, or 3pm for a short talk revealing the rise, fall, and rise again of Britain’s petitioning tradition. Or, drop-in any time to meet the team behind the research project, funded by the Leverhulme Trust. They can show you the variety and range of petitions, on topics ranging from voting rights for working men and women, to animal rights, to the abolition of slavery.

Talks will be at: 11.00am-11.30am and 2.00pm - 2.30pm

Drop in: 11.00am-4.00pm

  • Please note event attendees must arrive at least ten minutes before the start time of the event, otherwise their booked space will be given to someone on the reserve list
  • Please contact the museum as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your reservation so your place can be given to another visitor
  • Please note all donations are non refundable
