Make your own pewter Christmas Decorations, no experience necessary, Fleur will guide you through the process step by step.
Using the traditional pewter cuttlefish casting technique you will carve your Christmas decoration design into a cuttlefish bone and then use this as a mould to pour the molten pewter into. At the end of the workshop you will have 2-3 decorations to hang of your tree.
What is included: All materials needed throughout the course will be included and complimentary tea,coffee, biscuits and mince pies.
You may want to bring an apron or wear old clothes as it can be dusty working with the cuttlefish and pewter.
TUTOR - Fleur Grenier trained at the Royal College of Art in London and has 30 years’ experience of working with pewter. Working from her studio in Angmering she designs and make pewter homeware that she sells through galleries and contemporary craft fairs, and she is represented by the London gallery Ruup and Form for her sculptural pieces.
Fleur has a passion for working with pewter and in 2010 Crowood Press published her book Pewter Design and Techniques, she enjoys passing the skills she has developed so other people can experience this lovely material.
