Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice & Accelerate: Line manager information sessions.

About this event

* Open to GCU Staff only

This session is intended to provide line managers with information about the GCU routes to professional recognition; the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP) and Accelerate. Teaching staff, new and experienced, are expected to gain fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

In order to support new and inexperienced teaching staff (less than 3 years’ experience of learning and teaching in higher education), we welcome their application to the credit bearing taught route of the PgCAP, leading to Fellow of the HEA on successful completion. Professional service and support staff who have student learning focused roles are also welcome to engage with the first two modules of the PgCAP, leading to Associate Fellow of the HEA on successful completion.

For experienced staff (more than 3 years’ experience of learning and teaching in higher education), the Accelerate route is an opportunity for individuals to make application for professional recognition by portfolio. Applications can be made for the awards of Associate Fellow, Fellow and Senior Fellow.

Hosted by the leaders of both the PgCAP and Accelerate, this information session gives line managers the opportunity to hear about these two routes to professional recognition, and how you can support staff who engage with the them.
