PGR Catch-up with Dr James Dennis - Preparing for the Academic Job Market: Creating Your Online Presence.

Please note these sessions are for current postgraduate research degree students at the University of Portsmouth only.

The job market for post-doctoral and permanent academic positions is incredibly competitive. In this session, Dr James Dennis will explore the benefits of curating a web presence for your research, teaching, and public engagement activities to help you in your job search. Designed for students with little to no web design experience, James will discuss easy to use tools, such as Squarespace, Wix.com, and WordPress, to create your own website and offer guidance on how you can use social media platforms to disseminate your work and network with other academics.

There is nothing to prepare in advance, so please do just join in, listen, take part in the conversation, or whatever you feel comfortable doing.
