PGR Night School - Just Write! Facilitated writing workshop
How does it work?
A room is booked in the Heath Park Graduate Centre and free tea/coffee is available.
You arrive with your laptop, notes and whatever you need to write.
There will be an academic on had to provide advice and guidance.
You have a drink, introduce yourself to others. There will be a brief 5 minute discussion associated with writing.
Everyone writes for an hour.
The timer ends. You feel good that you’ve made progress and you finish by exchanging cheery banter!
These writing sessions have been found to be really useful in helping postgraduate students overcome procrastination and develop self-discipline in writing. You also get to meet other postgraduate research students who are going through what you are experiencing. You can be working on any piece of writing, your thesis, your progress reports, papers or an abstract for a conference, preparing a poster – you choose!
Please note that you must bring your own laptop to these sessions (please ensure the battery is fully charged as not all desks have easy access to a socket point).
Spaces are limited so please book as soon as possible.
