PGR Snapshot - Promoting your research to the media (ONLINE)
Overview
PGR Snapshot - Promoting your research to the media.
Robyn Montague, PR and Media Manager, UoP.
Engaging with the media can be a daunting experience. Yet, communicating your research to the media can be a highly effective method of increasing the impact of your research expertise, not only within your field of research but to the widest possible audience: the general public.
This is a one-hour session for academics, researchers and research students interested in raising their profile to local, national and international audiences.
In this session, Robyn will talk about the University’s press and media team, how they can support you, engaging with the media and opportunities for media training.
She’ll look at why you should engage with the media, promote your research to the public, and what the benefits are for academics and universities.
There will be tips on how the media work, what makes a good piece of media content, and the different approaches and media content formats.
Benefits of attending:
- Find out how to raise your profile in the media
- Understand what makes a good story to the media
- Understand how to engage with the media
- How you can work with the Press and Media team and the support they can provide.
This event is for University of Portsmouth (UoP) Postgraduate Researchers and Staff only. Please sign in with your UoP Zoom account to join; if we can't verify you're part of our community, we won't be able to admit you.
