Leading Vision and Provision in a Distinctive Context
This additional module is aimed at colleagues who are new to Headship within a Church of England school context. It will focus upon:
Shaping, developing and articulating a distinctly Christian vision
Ensuring this vision underpins and informs all school provision
Involving the whole school community
Evaluating the effectiveness of distinctive provision
Belonging to the Diocesan family
National Society vision and messages
Olivia Seymour, Education Adviser and SIAMS Manager
Olivia supports schools in strengthening their Christian distinctiveness and on Religious Education and collective worship by producing resources, putting on training events, sharing good practice and developing networks. She co-ordinates the delivery of support for schools through our Service Level Agreement and is the link adviser for many schools. Part of her role is to help schools prepare for SIAMS and to work with them in putting together and implementing their post-inspection action plan. She is also responsible for managing the SIAMS programme and the training and support of SIAMS inspectors. Olivia also offers support and training to clergy and others who work with schools.
Alison Smith: Acting Deputy Director : School Effectiveness and Curriculum
Alison’s role is specifically to support the Diocesan Board of Education in securing the effectiveness of its schools and academies. She monitors and reports on a range of performance data and liaises with Local Authorities, the DfE and Ofsted, attending feedback meetings and monitoring visits as appropriate. She provides school improvement advice to individual schools and supports collaborative relationships between schools in order to share expertise and build capacity and with teaching schools. She was until recently a Headteacher of a primary school for almost 10 years.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
On a first visit to the teaching school you will be asked to provide a current DBS and a form of photographic ID.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is parking on site. Please follow the directions if parking on the gravelled car park area.
