About the training:
We're pleased to offer Mental Health First Aid Training, certified by the Public Health Agency. Employers have a duty of care to support their employees, both physically and mentally. In recent years poor mental health has become increasingly prevalent in the workplace and costs £45 billion per year in the UK.
Mental Health First Aid is equivalent to a physical First Aider. It's about equipping a person to spot the signs of a mental health problem, to give employees someone to turn to when they are struggling with their mental health and to assist until appropriate professional treatment is received.
This 2-day course focuses on evidence-based training. Participants will learn how to recognise and deal with crisis situations such as suicidal behaviour, self-harm, panic attacks and acute psychotic behaviour. Also included are more common mental health problems like depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
All successful participants receive a Mental Health First Aid certificate and access to PHA resources.
