We warmly invite London borough digital inclusion leads, and their voluntary and charity sector / wider public sector partners to take part in the next phase of LOTI's Digital Exclusion map for London project. Details of the project's progress so far can be found here.

Background

Barnet, Brent, Kensington and Chelsea, Southwark and Westminster have come together to map digital exclusion across London.

The collaboration will build a publicly available map on the London DataStore that will help boroughs identify areas of digital exclusion, the key groups affected, and the types of needs they may have. The latest version of the map can be found here. You can find a full list of data sets used to develop the map, here.

At this session, we will be showcasing the public map, alongside a toolkit and methodology to enable other boroughs (and interested stakeholders) to understand the mapping and validation process and replicate the analysis for their own local geographies.

The Show & Tell will mark the conclusion of Phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 will form part of LOTI's Digital Inclusion Innovation Programme. This Programme is funded by the Mayor of London as part of the wider Digital Access for All mission to ensure that “Every Londoner to have access to good connectivity, basic digital skills and the device or support they need to be online by 2025.”

To ensure that this project meets the needs of Londoners, it would be great to have a cross-section of London boroughs represented. Please do encourage and share this invite with other London borough colleagues who might be involved in digital inclusion projects, and have an interest in getting involved.
