Stretching the Truth: Mechanotransduction in Sensory Nerves
We explore a fundamental process - mechanotransduction, which no-one really understands. But it is crucial for all sorts of senses, like touch, balance and even hearing. Thomas uses a variety of techniques to try to get to the bottom of this mysterious bodily function from computers to fruit flies! What he is discovering now could be vital to disease treatment for such things as hypertension, deafness and PCD, amongst others.
