Join our PhD information session on Friday 2 December from 11.30am - 1pm to find out more about what it means to do a PhD, the process of applying and the areas of supervision we can offer you. The session will be held at the Management School in the Hitchcock Board Room.
A PhD is an independent piece of research that provides an original contribution to existing knowledge of management. The key feature of the PhD is that it is yours: the topic, planning, motivation, and thinking come from you.
You have a supervisor who facilitates your progress along the way. A PhD will be the most challenging type of academic work you have ever done; it should also be the most rewarding work you’ve ever done. Sheffield University Management School offers you the opportunity to study for a PhD in a stimulating and rewarding collegiate environment, committed to delivering an outstanding student experience and impactful socially-responsible research.
We offer supervision in a wide range of subject areas if you already have a topic in mind. If you're interested in doing a PhD, but aren't sure exactly what area to focus on, a number of our academics have also developed projects which are ready for students who have already secured funding or are self-funded.
