About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Designed for PhD students in any discipline this virtual, small-group workshop will teach you in clear, easy to follow terms how to undertake a literature review for a PhD thesis. Everything is explained in straightforward terms.

The literature review may seem a daunting task, particularly if you are doing it for the first time and even if you aren’t, doing a PhD literature review is very different from the one you may have done for your undergraduate or Masters dissertation. At first, doing a literature review may seem a daunting task; this event will remove the mystery from the process and show you how to do it in a step-by-step way.

We will consider:

• the purpose of a literature review

• the stages involved in undertaking a literature review

• how to structure your review

• what makes a “good” review

• what the examiners are looking for in a literature review

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to undertake your literature review, identify appropriate literature for your topic, ensure that it is conducted and written to a doctoral level, and write it in a structure suitable for a PhD thesis.

We run this workshop regularly, and it always sells out. It has been reviewed very highly be previous students. Scroll down or click here to read testimonials.
