PhD Participatory Research Network: March Session
Overview
PhD Participatory Research Network: March Session
Welcome to the March session of the PhD Participatory Research Network! Join us at Room WBW LG/1, Waterloo Bridge Wing, Franklin-Wilkins Building at King's College London for insightful discussions with fellow PhD students interested in participatory research methods.
For this session, we will welcome Dr Aoife Sadlier, who will lead a workshop on the role of creative methods in participatory research, with a particular emphasis on what is feasible to undertake within a PhD.
As spaces are limited, please register your interest via Eventbrite to secure your place. If you can no longer attend, kindly cancel your registration so that someone else can take your spot. If the event is full, you can also join the waitlist on Eventbrite to be notified if a spot becomes available.
About our Speaker
Dr Aoife Sadlier is a researcher, lecturer and fiction writer. She currently works as Participatory Research Officer at Queen Mary University of London where she runs trainings, engages in practice-based research and administers the Participatory Research Fund. She is also an Associate Lecturer in Sustainability in Practice at MLA College (in partnership with University of Plymouth); she enjoys supervising students to make meaningful changes in their workplaces through participatory action research. Outside her HE pursuits, Aoife is writing her first novel and a short story collection, both of which are inspired by magical realism.
About our Network
Each month, we meet to explore how participatory values can be embedded in PhD-level research, combining workshops, peer discussions, and occasional guest speakers. Together, we aim to build collective resources, insights, and guidance by PhD students, for PhD students.
Our network is open to all PhD students from any institution, no matter where you are in your participatory research journey!
