PhD Participatory Research Network Session 2
Overview
PhD Participatory Research Network Session 2
Welcome to the second session of the PhD Participatory Research Network! Join us at Room 1.62 (F-WB1.62), Franklin Wilkins Building at King's College London for insightful discussions with fellow PhD students interested in participatory research methods.
For this session, we will welcome our guest speaker, Kate Fifield, a postdoctoral researcher at King’s College London. Kate will discuss the barriers and successes she encountered while integrating PPI into her PhD feasibility study on digital assessment technology for young adults with a rare genetic disease.
Each month, we’ll meet to explore how participatory values can be embedded in PhD-level research, combining workshops, peer discussions, and occasional guest speakers. Together, we’ll build collective resources, insights, and guidance by PhD students, for PhD students.
Our network is open to all PhD students from King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, and Imperial College London. If you are based at another institution but are interested in joining, please email Emma (e.hayashibara@qmul.ac.uk).
To stay updated about future events, please email Emma (e.hayashibara@qmul.ac.uk) to be added to our mailing list. You can also follow us on BlueSky: @phd-participatory.bsky.social
As spaces are limited, please register your interest via Eventbrite to secure your place. If you can no longer attend, kindly cancel your registration so that someone else can take your spot. If the event is full, you can also join the waitlist on Eventbrite to be notified if a spot becomes available.
