Overview


Tribute is a series of 13 dramatic monologues – tributes / eulogies to fictional characters. Director of London Writers' Week Jennifer Tuckett will discuss the inspiration, development, production and marketing - and the lessons for dramatic writers - of this project with its producer Philip Shelley.


The conversation will be followed by a performance of one of the monologues, discussion between Philip and writer Katy Walker, and conclude with an audience Q&A.


Philip Shelley is the instigator of and runs Channel 4’s screenwriting course and is one of the UK's most experienced and highly regarded script consultants.

Philip Shelley is one of the UK's most experienced and highly regarded script consultants. His credits include:


As a producer: Margery & Gladys (ITV); Making Waves (ITV); First Sign of Madness (Carlton/ITV), which won awards at the New York TV Festival, Worldfest Houston, and the Columbus Ohio TV festival.


As Head of Development for Drama at Carlton TV: script edited Anybody’s Nightmare, Inspector Morse, Kavanagh QC, Plain Jane, Cider with Rosie, Noah’s Ark and The Waiting Time.


As script editor: 2 series Waking The Dead (BBC), A Good Murder (Sally Head Productions / ITV), Medics, Staying Alive and The Knock (ITV).


As trainer: Philip has run screenwriting \ script-editing courses and sessions at De Montfort University Leicester, Bath Spa University, UAL \ Central Saint Martins, Northern Ireland Screen, Indie Training Fund, Baby Cow Productions, Arab Film Studios, Abu Dhabi, Singapore Media Academy, and Screen Training Ireland/


Script Consultant is Philip's screenwriting consultancy.


Philip has run the Channel 4 screenwriting course for the last 7 years.
