Description

The programme for this day:

  • Criteria for selecting appropriate veins
  • Strategies for improving success of venepuncture
  • Criteria for choosing the appropriate device
  • Potential problems/hazards/risks which may be encountered by patients or staff, self and others
  • Measures required to prevent/reduce the occurrence of complications
  • Interventions required in the event of complications occurring
  • Correct disposal of equipment


PLEASE NOTE

  • Simulated competencies will be assessed on the day and delegates should be able to identify a practitioner in their practice for ongoing supervision.
  • Following training, all delegates will be expected to complete a minimum of 10 supervised blood draws in practice under the guidance of their own clinicians to become qualified.
  • Delegates must discuss with their employer the requirements for Hep B injections for clinical practice, it is strongly advised for Phlebotomy.


THIS TRAINING IS SUITABLE FOR HEALTHCARE ASSISTANTS, NEW NURSES AND MEDICAL RECEPTIONISTS.


PLEASE NOTE

The Eventbrite fees are nonrefundable, so we won't return them to the ticket buyer when a refund is processed. But there are two exceptions. We will refund the Eventbrite fees to buyers when an event is cancelled or when the buyer was charged multiple times in error and requests a refund within 7 days of purchase. (Currently this will be £5.03 for a half day course and £6.91 for a full day course).
