About your hosts

Cathy is a Wellbeing Support Worker who supports carers caring for adults with a learning disability. She has worked with people with a learning disability for 26 years. She has been supporting parents and family carers of people with a learning disability, at Carer’s Support since November 2017. Lou is one of our experienced volunteers, prior to volunteering for carers support, she supported people with mental health issues and drug & alcohol addiction.

Carer agreement

This group is for informal, or unpaid, family, parents or friend carers of an adult with a learning disability living in West Sussex. Please note this group is for carers registered with us. Please take a moment to read the carer workshop agreement below. This is to support you and others in the group to have an enjoyable and safe group. By booking to attend the group you are agreeing to the points below.

You will be sent an invitation by email each month just before the date of the next call. This invitation has the phone numbers, the meeting ID and passcode used by you to join the call.

The sessions will be facilitated by Cathy and Lou. Please make sure you read and understand the information that we’ve sent you with this agreement.

By attending the group you are agreeing to the terms below, this is to help keep the phone in group a safe and friendly place.

• We will check with you that you are a carer.

• I will not forward the call invitation, or passcode to anyone else as my invitation is personal to me

• You will be asked to wait, there is a “ waiting room” on the line. You will also be asked to put the meeting ID and meeting passcode in using the numbers on your phone. There may be a delay.

• I wish to participate in the phone in group.

• I will treat everything I hear with confidence

• I understand the calls will not be recorded, either by Zoom, CSWS or by anyone participating. I will not record, share or publish it in anyway, eg social media

• I am responsible for providing the wifi/phone/laptop etc I need to access the calls

• I’m aware I can withdraw from the call at any time if I chose not to participate
