About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Are you responsible for administering the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check in primary schools in June? This comprehensive briefing is designed for teachers and school leaders to outline their statutory duties.

The briefing provides essential guidance and information to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, in alignment with the Standard and Testing Agency requirements.

You'll gain the knowledge and confidence needed to administer the check accurately and make confident and robust assessments. We'll explore the purpose, format, and content of the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check. In addition, we'll consider how you can provide accommodations for students with special educational needs and ensure inclusivity in the assessment process through access arrangements. Guidance will be provided on how all members of staff involved can ensure the security and integrity of the Phonics Screening Check is maintained.

NB: Independent schools cannot formally administer the check

This session will be recorded and a recording shared with those who cannot attend the event.

Cost

This session is free to attend for schools for whom The London Borough of Waltham Forest is your statutory assessment provider. This includes academies, free schools who are located outside of the Borough but have selected Waltham Forest (working with Pobble) as your statutory assessment provider.

£50 for schools who have an alternative statutory assessment provider.
