Event description

Description

The Hands-On Cove Park Holiday Art Club offers a blast of creativity every day!

Photo Cinema Holiday Art Club is for children aged 7-11 interested in animation and the moving image. During 5 daily sessions, 09:30-12:30 from Monday 3 - Friday 7 April 2017, attendees will be introduced to working with images, collage, 2D image animation, 3D object animation and projection to create surreal, often touching and hilarious animated mini worlds.

Taking photos and images from their lives as a starting point, theatre artist Ellie Griffiths will encourage attendees to consider their relationship with self-portraits and how they choose to represent themselves in a fun, inspiring and engaging Holiday Art Club.

Ellie Griffiths is a theatre artist whose practice sits between theatre and visual art. She specialises in making multi disciplinary performances for young audiences; particularly those with additional needs such as learning disabilities, complex needs and/or on the autism spectrum. She has six years experience working as a performer, associate artist and director of Oily Cart Theatre and is an associate artist of Starcatchers. She is currently developing a table top performance using collage photo cinema for young people age 7-12 and also a multi sensory music performance piece for young people on the autistic spectrum. Later this year she will visit Australia and the USA to research performance and neurodiversity on a Winston Churchill travel fellowship.
