Photo Scarborough is excited to bring you our first two workshops! First up have a go at making your own Camera Obscura.The Camera Obscura has a long history in Scarborough, and there has been around four public versions in Scarborough during the 19th century alone. It is a device that uses a small pinhole and lens to create an image in what is considered as a very early form of image maker.In the workshop we will go over the history of the camera obscura, their various apperances in Scarborough, and then make our own and use it to explore the views and nature of South Cliff Gardens. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided.
This workshop is led by Photo Scarborough, which is made up of Martha Cattell and Jonathan Wallis, and was set up to explore the rich photo histories of Scarborough, and promote contemporary photo work. Any questions email: photoscarborough@gmail.com

Where: Beeforth Hive, South Cliff Gardens, Scarborough Located a 15 minute walk from Scarborough Town Centre and train station, there is parking on-street around the venue.
Who: Over 18+, this workshop is open to anyone, no skills required, no need to bring anything
