Event description

Description

Come along to this Beattie inspired photography workshop with the Preston Map Collective photographers. Edwin Beattie is best known for his street scenes of Victorian and Edwardian Preston and recorded the town at a time of great change.

With guidance from the Preston Map Collective photographers and the Harris’ History Curator, this photography workshop will start in the Discover Preston gallery before heading out into the city. You might be inspired to photograph a fragment of Beattie's Preston that survives above the modern shopfronts or record something that is about to be changed in the modern city.

Digital photographs will be shared on a big screen at the end of the session and some of the prints will be displayed in the Streets of Change: Beattie and Beyond exhibition which opens on the 30 September.

Length of workshop: about 2 and a half hours.

Free. Booking essential. 10 places, suitable for 16+,

No experience needed, just lots of enthusiasm! Bring a digital camera or smartphone.
