Description

Join the Scottish Society for the History of Photography for a visit to the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum, which houses the private collection of Scottish-American billionaire philanthropist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919). Some items of interest in the Carnegie collection include photographs of 19th century India (by Samuel Bourne, Colin Murray, Lala Deen Dayal and others), photographs by George Shiras III (first wildlife photos published in the National Geographic) and architectural photographs by Frances Benjamin Johnston. Coffee and tea will be served after the tour.

This event is open primarily for the members of the Scottish Society for the History of Photography. Non-members wishing to attend the event should contact the museum’s Curator at: curatorial@carnegiebirthplace.com
