For many amateur photographers, having a digital DSLR camera is like owning a private jet – you know you could do some amazing things with it… if only you could work out what all the controls are for. Ideal for novices, this comprehensive weekend course, led by Guardian photographer Sebastian Meyer, covers the technical and practical essentials of shooting with a professional-standard camera, to ensure your photographs make the most of your hardware.
Taking you from using fully automatic to fully manual settings by the end of the course, you'll learn how features like shutter speed, aperture and ISO can enhance the quality of your images. Then you'll apply your new skills to portrait, landscape and action images, with expert tips in subjects including composition, lighting and colour to help transform your approach to taking pictures.
This course is for you if...
You have a passion for photography and own your own DSLR, but want to gain technical confidence and experience.
