Sisterhood Collective August Social: Sequencing & Storytelling Workshop with George Miles (NTU)

Join us for an interactive sequencing workshop led by acclaimed photographer, educator, and photobook maker George Miles (NTU). This hands-on session is designed to support women and women-identifying photographers working on personal projects as part of our ongoing theme of identity and creative voice.

📸 What to Expect: This isn’t a lecture — it’s a practical session where you’ll work with your own printed images to explore visual language, rhythm, and narrative. George will guide us through how sequencing can shape meaning, mood, and message in a photographic project — drawing on his background in exhibition-making and photobook publishing.

✍️ What to Bring: Bring between 8-10 (the more the better!) and 30 printed images from your current project or photographic practice. We’ll be laying them out physically and reworking sequences as a group. If you're unsure where to get your prints done, the Sisterhood team can advise. Found images or family album photos are also welcome if you don’t have your own work yet.

☕ Drinks from the Broadway Cinema Café Bar are welcome in the space — feel free to bring one in and get cosy.

📌 About George Miles: George Miles is a Nottingham-based photographer whose work explores the way landscapes are used, seen, and experienced — both in reality and through images. His work has been widely exhibited across the UK and the US and is held in major collections worldwide. He teaches at Nottingham Trent University and works within the tradition of the everyday, seeking the sublime in the ordinary.
