Join us on a walk along the canal and learn how to take the most effective photographs.

About this event

Come and join the Canal & River Trust on the beautiful Sheffield & Tinsley Canal for a 1 hour photographic walk around the historic Victoria Quays canal basin. The Sheffield and Tinsley Canal opened in 1819 to carry boats between the navigable River Don and a new basin in the centre of Sheffield. The canal in Sheffield retains many original characteristics with many historic buildings around the basin to enjoy as well as boats and more modern developments.

Learn how to take the most effective photos in this area with our photographer and volunteer Mark.

You don’t need any prior experience and anyone with an interest in taking photographs is welcome. All you need is either a camera phone or camera and any will do! There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions to get the most out of the session.

Please note that Victoria Quays historic basin has many cobblestones. Wheelchairs will be accommodated for but please be aware of the slightly uneven terrain. The route for the photography walk will be at a slow pace and will not cover a huge distance. Emphasis is on taking photographs rather than walking.

Meeting point: Arch 12, Wharf Street, Victoria Quays next to Victoria Junction cafe. Please arrive at least 5 minutes ahead of the walk.
