Description
Fine art photographer Diego Ferrari invites participants to take part in a day-long workshop in central London aimed at developing photographic skills. The workshop is connected to a multimedia art exhibition by Diego Ferrari and Jean McNeil, 'Day for Night: Landscapes of Walter Benjamin', currently at the Peltz Gallery, 43 Gordon Square, Bloomsbury. Taking its cue from the themes of the exhibition, the workshop will focus on how we relate with space physically, intellectually and emotionally. We will explore how to use the self as a subject of performance in space. Students will learn how to develop individual photographic projects working with both exterior and interior spaces, and with natural and artificial light. Photographers of all levels are welcome, as long as they have a camera of some kind – analogue, digital SLR or phone cameras are all suitable.
Maximum: 12 people
Cost: £30
The workshop is free to Kingston University students with a valid Kingston email.
Diego Ferrari teaches photography at Kingston University, at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and lectures and leads workshops at Goldsmiths College and at the Royal Institute of British Architects. He has a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths University and an MA in Art and Architecture from the University of Canterbury. For more information see www.diegoferrari.com
