Pi and Chips
Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (GMT)
Nottingham, United Kingdom
This event is in partnership with Computing at School and forms part of events to celebrate Computer Science Education Week. Computing at School are organizing a nation-wide campaign to encourage 10 million students (and adults) to try an Hour of Code. This will be the largest initiative of its kind, ever.
This event will provide a hands-on experience, for teachers new to coding, covering both coding and control using the Picaxe and Arduino chip systems in addition to the Raspberry Pi. Drawing on a range of STEM based activities participants will be able to experience activities, which could be taken directly into the school setting, to introduce coding using BASIC, C and Scratch and with direct links to the new Computing Curriculum.
This event is suitable for primary and secondary teachers - no prior experience of programming is necessary.
The event will be held at the Clifton Campus, Ada Byron King Building, room 106.
