Description

The Oxford Piano Group is proud to host Katherine and Dr Christopher Fisher for this special Teachers Event at the Jacqueline du Pre Music Building at St Hilda's College on Sunday 5 May 2019.

Building on from the earlier workshops in the Piano Safari 2019 Workshop Tour (Alfred UK), this Oxford event is for piano teachers who would like to:

  • Understand the progression of technique, musicianship, reading and ensemble skills in Piano Safari Levels 2 and 3;
  • Learn how to transition their pupils from Piano Safari 1 (or from other methods) into Levels 2 and 3;
  • Understand the levelling of the Piano Safari repertoire against the UK examination board grades; and
  • Observe pupil performances of selected solo and ensemble repertoire from Piano Safari Levels 2 and 3 during live workshops with Katherine and Dr Christopher Fisher.

To round up the afternoon, workshop attendees will be inspired by a short recital by the Fisher Piano Duo (Christopher and Katherine Fisher).

All registered attendees at this Eventbrite website (or the Alfred website) will receive a complimentary set of Piano Safari Level 2 books to help them get the best out of the workshop, courtesy of Alfred UK. Therefore, please register to confirm attendance as soon as possible.

In addition to the packed programme, there will opportunities on the day to view and purchase additional Piano Safari books and teaching resources, courtesy of Blackwell’s Bookshop.

The Oxford Piano Group would like to thank Andrew Higgins of Alfred UK for his advice and the sponsorship of this event as part of the Piano Safari 2019 Workshop Tour. For information and registration to attend the other workshops in the series, please visit the event page on Alfred UK’s event website:
