Too damn right! Pica pica, Pica pica!’s pumped for an incendiary night of in-yer-face, moshpit-inducing, glorious genre-surfing intense sound waves.
Yes, it’s a double-header with two of the most exciting acts we’ve seen this year – hello The Dirt at Rockaway Beach and Gourds winning NEW NOISE!’s Battle Of The Bands – plus very special guests Fleas, who we’ve been gagging to host for ages.
Last seen in Norwich in 2024 as tour support for EMF, UK-Japanese marital psych-punk noise-meisters The Dirt drop huge energy and volume, thanks to their heavy guitar loops, distortion, fuzz and punchy percussion splattered with fast-firing lyrics. Check out the duo's August-released second studio album, Monkeypunch, so you’re ready to rant along.
Think Suicide meets Spaceman3 with surfed-up Dead Kennedys/Fall/Killing Joke, suggests The Dirt.
“The politically charged pairing sees Jack Horner leaping like a madman and screaming like a possessed preacher whilst Sachiko Wakizaka shreds psyche-inspired garage rock riffs… What they lack in numbers, they certainly make up for in passion and they never fail to provide one hell of a show” Under The Radar
Gourds are a genre-defying band creating punk-influenced music laced with quirky, warm, risqué, strange and comic lyrics from a seaside town in Norfolk. Your gob will be smacked.
“Gourds are also pretty darned special… Most of the high energy set has Brian James-era Damned energy and attitude with a metallic edge and a touch of oi/streetpunk in the shoutalong choruses… I Love My Mummy is possibly the best Wonk Unit song Alex Wonk never wrote… There is more than a seed of greatness there and I really, really hope I get to see ‘em bring it to fruition” (Pavlis, Outline)
Alt-hardcore champs Fleas’ 2025 debut album, ‘imagine if there was more’, has beefed-up their reputation as an act to embrace with airplay from BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio and tastemaker press coverage including Total Rock, Louder Than War and The Punk Site. Don’t miss a minute, Fleas jump all over the Showroom from 7.30pm.
“Blew my mind… You just know they will go off live!” Alyx Holcombe, BBC Radio 1
