About this event

The Piccadilly area is renowned for its theatres, iconic buildings, world famous shops, architectural heritage, and other sights that bring together the traditional with the modern in an interesting harmony.

The walk will shed light on Piccadilly's foundation and its attraction of bustling crowds from the 17c to today. It will reveal fascinating facts on the rich history behind this thriving area.

Today, as in the past, various crowds criss-cross the intersection which is also known as the "Times Square" of London. The iconic Eros statue stands in the centre of Piccadilly Circus and overlooks the famous site and connects Piccadilly to the main streets of Shaftesbury Avenue and Lower Regent Street.

The stroll along Piccadilly street will take us to well-known places that reveal its history, such as the famous arcade with traditionally reputed shops and bespoke products. The walk will pass by the most famous shop on the street established in the early 1700s with an original facade and its characteristic clock. Other historical highlights that bring to life the uniqueness of Piccadilly include St James Church from the 1680s designed by the prolific architect Sir C. Wren.
