The Share Centre, Liontrust and What Investment magazine have teamed up to offer an evening of investment insights, plus cheese and wine, in the luxurious surroundings of The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor.  

At this free event, which has been put together especially for investment clubs, you will hear from two leading fund managers on how they research and identify winning stocks in an increasingly uncertain world. You will have an opportunity to ask them about their investment strategies and also to learn from other investment clubs.

SPEAKERS

Anthony Cross, co-manager, Liontrust Special Situations, UK Growth, UK Smaller Companies and UK Micro Cap funds

Anthony Cross joined Liontrust in 1997 from Schroder Investment Management, where he spent three years as an equity analyst before moving to the smaller companies team in 1994. During this time, Anthony identified a number of characteristics common to successful companies and, on joining Liontrust, created a documented investment process; Liontrust Economic Advantage. This process is applied to four funds; Liontrust UK Smaller Companies, Liontrust Special Situations, Liontrust UK Growth and Liontrust UK Micro Cap. Anthony, his team, and the funds they manage have won numerous awards including What Investment Fund Manager of the Year & Best UK Smaller Companies Fund awards at What Investment magazine’s 2016 Unit Trust awards. Anthony graduated in 1990 from Exeter University with a degree in politics.

Mark Williams, co-manager, Liontrust Asia Income fund

Mark joined Liontrust in October 2011 from Occam, where he’d worked since October 2007. After leaving Cambridge University, Mark started his career in 1993 with James Capel Investment Management, where he ran global investment mandates for discretionary portfolios. From August 1997, Mark joined Royal Sun Alliance to specialise in Asian investment, where he managed a number of mandates, including benchmark-measured, investment trust and peer group funds. In 2000 Mark took over the FPI GIP Far East Equity SICAV, then following the merger of ISIS Asset Management (born from the merger of Royal Sun Alliance and Friends Ivory & Sime) and F&C, he took over responsibility for the F&C Pacific Growth Fund, F&C’s flagship high alpha retail fund. Mark graduated in 1993 with a Law degree from Cambridge University. He holds a Securities Institute Diploma.
