What really makes a work of art come alive? Sometimes it isn’t the brushstrokes or the paper at all but the frame that surrounds it.
In this intimate taster session, you’ll step into the world of frame making and discover why the frame is never just decoration. Through live demonstrations and stories from the workshop bench, you’ll see how subtle choices, a curve here, a colour there can transform not just how we see an artwork, but how we feel about it.
This isn’t a how-to class; it’s a glimpse behind the curtain. A chance to watch the craft in action, to learn a little of the “why” behind it, and to leave seeing your own pictures in a new light.
And if your curiosity is sparked we’ll soon be launching a full Picture Frame Course, where you’ll roll up your sleeves, get hands-on, and create frames of your own. This taster is the perfect first step.
Come curious. Leave inspired.
This workshop is heavily subsidised, but not free, thanks to the generous funding from Leeds Council. In order to keep the workshop accessible to all, we offer three ticket tiers based on your income: £5, £10, and £15, plus the Eventbrite booking fee. We ask that you choose the ticket that best reflects what you can afford, so we can continue offering affordable opportunities for everyone. Your support helps us keep these sessions running for the creative community.
