Event Description

• Meet at Bournemouth pier to take part in a fun group run to improve your fitness and meet new people.

• The run is suitable for runners of all levels so don’t hesitate to get involved.

• Take in beautiful views of Bournemouth beach while also staying active.

• Meet new people with similar interests to yourself from other halls.

Location

Meet at Bournemouth pier- Pier Approach, Bournemouth BH2 5AA

• If you are on foot, it is around a 20-minute walk from Lansdowne campus to Bournemouth pier.

• Alternatively, you can catch the M1, M2, 16, or 17 bus from Holdenhurst Road bus stop (outside Christopher Creeke) into Bournemouth town centre for free with your UniBus pass, which will take around 5 minutes.

What to bring?

• Please bring a bottle of water/energy drink to keep you hydrated.

• Wear appropriate running clothes (shorts/leggings and vest or t shirt).

• If the weather is cooler, long-sleeve base layers may be needed in addition to gloves, hats and jackets.

• Sun cream may be needed in the event of sunny weather as the run is entirely outdoors.

• Do not bring anything valuable as there will be nowhere to keep it whilst you are running. If you want to bring your phone with you, wear an arm strap or have it in a secure pocket.

Use of your information

Covid-19 Test & Trace

The name and contact mobile number you provide when signing up for this event will be kept by us for use in the government’s Test & Trace process. Service providers are asked to collect these details so that you can be contacted if someone you may have been in close contact with during the event later tests positive for Covid-19. ResLifeBU will share this information with the event provider and/or NHS Test & Trace if it is necessary for the purposes of Test & Trace. We will keep the information for these purposes for 21 days after the date of the event. If you do not wish us to keep your information for these purposes, please email gcory@bournemouth.ac.uk, giving the name of the event and confirming that you do not want your information to be kept for Test & Trace purposes. more information on Test & Trace see the GOV.Uk website For more information on BU’s processing of personal information in relation to Covid-19, see the BU website.

Event co-ordination: WhatsApp group chat

We create a WhatsApp group chat for each ResLifBU event. We will add you/your mobile number to the group chat for this event, and this means your number will be visible to others in the group. The WhatsApp group will be managed by our events team and used to give you the full details of the event, including any changes we have to make as a result of changes to rules or guidance on Covid-19 or other factors such as the weather. The WhatsApp group will be deleted within 24hrs after the event has taken place. If you do not use WhatsApp, or if you don’t want your mobile number used for this purpose, please do not continue with purchase of this ticket through Eventbrite. Instead, please email gcory@bournemouth.ac.uk to book your place by email. We will then use email to inform you of any changes to the event. If you are booking by email but are happy for your number to be kept for Test and Trace purposes as above, please provide your phone number in the email. We will only use it for Test and Trace purposes and will delete it 21 days after the event as explained above.

Covid 19: Event safety

To ensure your safety, all events have been fully risk assessed and will be managed in accordance with current government guidance on socialising. Currently, single occupancy flats (studios), shared flats and houses are all classified as a “household” and you can therefore socialise with other residents of your household. The latest guidance on socialising outside of your household can be found on the GOV.UK website. At the time of the event we will remind you of the latest guidance but it will be your responsibility to abide by this. Additionally, we will provide personal safety information relevant to the event and some equipment, such as hand sanitizer. However, where face coverings are required in line with government advice, you will be expected to provide your own. We will advise you in advance if you will require a face covering for your event.
