Event description

Description

Alan Read returns to Bell House to explore The Colour of Memory - an exhibition at the Tate Modern, running from Jan 23rd to May 6th.

The exhibition, the first for twenty years, concentrates on Pierre Bonnard’s work from 1912, when colour became a dominant concern, until his death in 1947. Born 1867, Bonnard was, with Henri Matisse, one of the greatest colourists of the early 20th century. He preferred to work from memory, imaginatively capturing the spirit of a moment and expressing it through his unique handling of colour and innovative sense of composition.

Alan Read regularly lectures at the National Portrait Gallery and for the Arts Society. He has been a guide at Tate Britain and Tate Modern for more than fifteen years.

Doors open at 7:15pm, with the talk starting at 7:30 - enough time to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine (for over 18s only) or soft drink.

Tickets cost £10.

Bursary tickets are available. Please email info@bellhouse.co.uk for more information.
