Event description

Description

The secret to a better run can be found in strengthening the deep core muscles targeted by Pilates.

My ‘Pilates for Runners’ workshops help people who run – run smarter.

Pilates is the perfect running partner. It’s a low impact strength-based exercise and all you need to get started is a mat.

Pilates can help you:

  • Reduce injury
  • Prevent side stitches
  • Improve your time
  • Make your running feel easier, more comfortable and enjoyable!

About your teacher

5 star Google rating and Kat

I’m Kat. I’m a Pilates teacher and runner.

I discovered Pilates in 2016 when I was looking for an exercise that would complement my running habit. Since then, I’ve reduced my 10K time by over 5 minutes.

In the February 2020 Milton Keynes 5K Winter Warmer Run, I was the 2nd fastest female finisher and 4th fastest overall (see race results).

My workshops are informative, engaging and fun. I teach with a tonne of enthusiasm so please bring your enthusiasm along with you too!

Kat Pilates is rated 5* on Google

Is this workshop for you?

This workshop is for beginner / improver / intermediate runners who can run up to half marathon distance. It is an ideal introduction to Pilates.

Venue

Barton Hall

Our venue is the light, airy and modern Unity Hall in Barton-le-Clay, set in the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside. If the weather is fine we have the chance to take our breaks outside in the sun or go for a quick run around the fields!

Tea, coffee, water and simple snacks provided.

The practical stuff

What to wear and bring

Wear comfortable clothing, eg jogging bottoms / leggings and a T-shirt.

Trainers are not worn for Pilates but you will probably want to leave your socks on to keep you warm.

Please bring your own mat — I would recommend this one — and a small towel to use under your head.

Cancellation policy

In the unlikely event that I cancel the workshop you will be offered the chance to attend another workshop or a refund will be given. I cannot be held liable for any third-party costs, such as travel bookings or accommodation. If you need to cancel your booking for any reason no refund will be given.
