Come along to the Woodshop of Recycled Delights 'Start Your Own Project' Workshop. This is an exciting opportunity to build something entirely of your own design from reclaimed timber with the support of WoRD’s friendly facilitators.
We'll take you through:
- Conceiving and designing your project
- Working out a cut list
- Picking the best material for your project (certain reclaimed timber supplied Free-of-charge by WoRD)
- Using the right tool for the job
- Expanding your experience on different power tools
- Simple projects may be able to be completed in a single session, however more complex designs may need more time!
- After completing this WoRD Next Steps workshop, if you feel confident enough, you can visit the workshop during our Wednesday Action days and continue to work on your project, using our tools and timber free of charge!
NOTE: WoRDs’ 'Start Your Own Project' Workshops are designed for participants who have previously attended an Introductory Session. Our Intro Sessions will get you started on your woodworking journey, so if you haven't yet attended one of these check our event page for the next session and sign up there!
We're passionate about supporting people to make whatever they want out of reclaimed material, and the possibilities are truly endless.
Suitable for ages 16+, our session will begin with an introductory tool talk for those who'd like it, and then you can crack on with making the project of your dreams or repairing your wooden items.
We take a co-learning approach, so whilst our facilitators have a little experience, they are not experts. Together we can work out how to make or fix things using reclaimed materials.
Workshop starts at 12pm - please arrive on-time to begin!

The GED is an outdoor space, so bring weather-appropriate clothing and wear sensible footwear. There will also be a short lunch break so please bring some lunch with you. See you there!
