Welcome to the pine needles Weaving Circle at Clitterhouse Farm.

From September, we will meet on the first Saturday on the month. The workshops can be taken as a stand-alone experience, but there is a discounted fee if you register for a series of three workshops (£50 for 3 workshops).

The Weaving Circle offers an introduction to the ancient art of pine needle basketry. Beginners will learn basic techniques, while those who already have some experience can explore new stitches to create unique patterns and experiment with shapes and forms.

The emphasis of the workshops is on developing skills, gaining inspiration, and embracing the process of exploration in a friendly group. Participants will be encouraged to discover their own weaving style in a supportive environment.

Weaving with Pine Needles offers a series of workshops where you can learn this ancient craft. If you are interested in making beautiful and useful objects out of natural materials then this is for you! To get you familiar with the pine needles, we will begin by making a shuro brush. In the next workshops, we will start coiling around a ready-made center to make coasters, and finally we will set out to make a first basket, coiling, stitching, shaping it... and embellishing it with beads. You will be working slowly, quietly. This process allows us to connect with nature and with each other.
