Description

When: 9:30am on Friday 28th October

How long: 5.5 miles, 2.5 hours

Suitability: Moderate level of fitness required, children, dogs on leads

Start: Thompson Common

Finish: Thompson Common

Getting there: Free car park at Thompson Common

Cost: Free

The walk starts at a Car park of Thompson Common formally a station of the  Great Western Railway . We then wind our way through Thompson reserve  ponds called Pingos situated in wet woodland and open grassland. The route then skirts Thompson Water before joining the Peddars Way for a couple of miles though dense forrest before heading north  along the old railway back to the start point.The walk here   overlooks the silted up Broad known as Cranberry Rough and Breckland landscape of woodland and heath.
