Pink-footed geese sunrise walk
Event Information
About this Event
You can be in the middle of all the action and watch mighty flocks of pinkies fly overhead in their iconic v shaped formations. Experience the sound of families of geese calling to each other as they trail dark silhouettes against the morning sky. You'll be in the company of an experienced ranger who will know exactly where you need to be to see this incredible wildlife spectacle. You'll also learn about the pinkies amazing journey from Arctic breeding grounds and why they return to Norfolk each year. RSPB Snettisham is a key destination to witness the early flights of the pinkies and for those that have been here, they say it's a memory they'll never forget.
Our pink-footed geese walks will run a little differently this year. We have been working hard to ensure that these events are Covid 19 secure and adhere to Government guidelines.
Each walk will only accommodate six people plus the ranger. You will be asked to respect social distancing measures and wear a face covering (unless exempt) in enclosed areas. Please bring your own equipment as our ranger will not be able to share a scope or binoculars.
The walk from the reserve car park to the viewing area is approximately 2km along a narrow gravel track with limited passing places. There are two sets of steps which can be slippery underfoot. Please wear appropriate footwear for the walk or contact Snettisham reserve at snettisham@rspb.org.uk if you have any queries.
Please do not attend if you have Covid-19 symptoms, been diagnosed with Covid-19 or had direct contact with an individual diagnosed with or suspected to have Covid-19 within 14 days of event date . Please check this link for the latest Government guidance https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
