PINT OF JUSTICE 2025/26

By CRITICAL CRIMINOLOGY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE RESEARCH GROUP

Overview

Bringing Research to the People—Informal Talks on Real-World Issues, Last Wednesday of Every Month at the Lord Roberts, Hockley, Nottingham

As academics, we have always reflected on the issue of the gap between research and the public. Despite dedicated efforts, platforms, forums, social media pages, etc. technical jargon have time and time again stood in the way of access to research knowledge. But now more than ever, there is a need for the research knowledge to reach the wider public with the help of all researchers.

With this, we introduce ‘Pint of Justice,’ a monthly series of informal talks about real-world issues by leading academics, held at the Lord Roberts pub in Nottingham City Centre. They feature a short talk from an expert on a specific topic, followed by a discussion led by a discussant and Q&A from the audience. The events are open to the public and are held on the last Wednesday of every month during term time from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

‘Pint of Justice’ is designed to bridge the gap between research and the public and is dedicated to making research truly accessible for all.
