Pioneering approaches to housing and addressing homelessness
Thu 27 April 2017, 18:30 – 21:30 BST
This special event marks the start of a series of events to mark 21 years of the Sustainable Housing & Urban Studies Unit (SHUSU) at the University of Salford. At this event we are bringing together a number of speakers from different backgrounds to share their insights, knowledge and practice related to their contribution to housing and their views on addressing homelessness. We are inviting members of our alumni and key partners to discuss and debate these ways forward and to provide an opportunity to network with likeminded colleagues.
Hear some of the latest approaches in the housing industry.
Network with professionals across the public, private and voluntary and community sectors.
Hear from leading industry figures.
Meet fellow Salford alumni.
Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences and hear invited speakers’ views on contemporary housing issues, including Amy Varle from the People’s Property Shop, Paul Longshaw from Salford City Council and Nic Bliss from The Confederation of Co-operative Housing (CCH), all while enjoying food and drinks at MediaCity.
Other speakers confirmed are:
Prof. Philip Brown, Director of the Sustainable Housing & Urban Studies Unit, University of Salford
