Visual artist Sophy Rickett celebrates the zingy new edition of her landmark photobook Pissing Women, which features essays by St. Vincent and Eileen Myles.

An era-defining exploration of female identity, memory and the post-Thatcher political climate, Sophy Rickett's book Pissing Women - a series of photo portraits of women unashamedly urinating in public - first made a splash in the art world upon its publication in 1994. Thirty years later, a zingy new edition features the original spread plus new positioning essays from artists and creatives whose work has been impacted by Rickett's own, not least musician St Vincent, poet Eileen Myles, writer/curator Hettie Judah, choreographer Holly Blakey, actor Lily Cole, comedian Sophie Duker, photographer Juno Calypso and more.

A prolific visual artist, photographer and writer, Sophy will be chatting about the book with one of these essayists, filmmaker Sophie Fiennes, who is perhaps best known for her documentaries Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami and Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow, as well as for her collaborative work with philosopher Slavoj Žižek.
