What will be covered?

Effective Communication. How we use communication to influence people and the methods that can be used to more successfully communicate a message to attract potential interest in our brand.

Influential Advertising. We will explore why many adverts fail to attract new customers and how we can avoid wasting money on ineffective advertising.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will master, using a simple messaging template, how to influence potential customers or investors. You will also learn how an advert is constructed and delivered and will be able to use this knowledge to more effectively communicate with others.

Have your advert professionally filmed!

We will be joined by videographer Mandy Lalley of “Space Hound” who will have a studio space on site. Using the methods you’ve been taught, you can record a professional advert which will be edited and emailed to you after the session. Filming opportunities will be limited to twelve spaces, so if you are interested in having a professionally filmed advert for use on your website or social media, please ask for a filming slot when booking your ticket.

Timetable

Hour 1: Lecture - Learn how a message is structured and delivered to engage and motivate a target customer.

Hour 2: Task - Construct your own personal advert to promote your business or yourself.

Hour 3: Activity - Rehearse your message live in front of the audience or sit back and be inspired by how the others have constructed their adverts.

About the facilitator

Having set up several business ventures covering both new products and services, Peter the Speaker is most well-known for having successfully pitched on TV’s Dragons’ Den.

With a background and training in psychology, and as an inventor and former stand-up comedian, Peter the Speaker combines all three skills to deliver unique, inspirational and entertaining business workshops.

As a dyslexic, Peter found conventional learning didn’t really suit him and his training style uses interactive lectures, immersive group activities and practical exercises suitable for a neurodiverse audience. His training covers the essential skills he wished he’d been taught when he first started his business journey.
